Aprox. 1710 hrs on July 10th, Marblehead Fire received reports of a structure fire at 6 Captains Walk Ln. Arriving companies found extremely heavy fire conditions along the floor 1 C and D side of a large wood frame house, reported to be worth over 1.5 million dollars, with overlapping fire to the roof and requested the 2nd Alarm immediately and a 3rd shortly after. Fire spread rapidly and due to a stuck hydrant in front of the residence water onto the fire was delayed. Fire would eventually travel along the length of the house on Floor 1, 2 and through the roof, with a partial collapse in the rear of the building and a complete collapse of the garage and 2nd floor above it on the C side. The house was in the middle of a culdesac on a wooded lot which afforded poor access and allowed only 1 aerial ladder to be utilized. Marblehead FD and the responding mutual aide worked hard to place the fire under control and the Marblehead PD was very gracious with access while keeping the crowds back and under control. Lots of pics, played with the settings, mostly shot in manual w/ a few in program mode w/ my flash as fill on some shots. Thanks for looking!
