NRFD Drilling 8/5/09 : I had the opportunity to attend and shoot a training evolution w/ the guys at the North Reading Fire Department. The house was vacant and was made available by the owners to the department for training before it is torn down to make way for a new home on the location. I hung around for about 2 hours, the jakes practiced ventilation cuts and other roof operations as well as opening up the interior of the structure and bail out techniques inside. First fire related shoot with the new Canon 50D, thanks for looking.

NRFD Ice Rescue Traning : North Reading,MA - 2/9/09 Participating firefighters from several area departments had the opportunity to be trained in Ice Rescue Techniques by instructors on site from the Massachusetts Fire Academy. A two part day first with classroom instruction and the second half where I was on location to shoot the hands on training. Two holes were cut into the ice on a small pond on Concord St where the instructors had the students go through multiple evolutions in different forms of ice rescue. A big thank you to the North Reading Fire Department for the invite to come take some photos.

Reading Seagrave Shoot : I was invited by Reading Fire to participate in a small shoot of their new fleet of Seagrave apparatus. Photographer Kevin White also arranged to have Wakefield Fire and Lynnfield Fire be on hand as well. It was my first time doing an actual "apparatus shoot" and it went pretty well considering the logistics involved in that all trucks are front line pieces, we shot on the Reading/Wakefield line in a large parking lot which provided a decent space for the shoot. Many thanks to Kevin White, and the participating departments and duty crews for making this possible. In attendance was, Reading Engine 1, Engine 2, Ladder 1, Wakefield Engine 1, Engine 2, Ladder 1 and Lynnfield Tower Ladder 1
