Hosted by the Fire & Iron Station 28 Motorcycle Club, the Basher Ride was first run in 2006 in honor of Lowell FD Lieut. Brian S. Ashe, proceeds from each ride are donated to Firefighter and EMS based charities, this years ride was held to raise money for the Massachusetts General Hospital Transplant Unit and Adam Coture. Adam is an 8 year old boy whom 3 years ago received a kidney transplant that his body has since rejected, and it was recently removed, Adam is on dialysis every other day to sustain him until a new replacement can be located, from what I'm told Adam is an amazing kid and one tough cookie. The participants in this ride were able to raise over $8,000 dollars to help Adam and his family. The photos are from their stop at Kittys Restruant in North Reading, MA and as they rode out of town passing the NRFD where the apparatus was pulled out on the apron for the ride.
